At Ardentinny Community Council’s AGM earlier this month a new committee was formed. Val Kennedy resigned as Convener after “at least 10 years” in the post and was replaced by Roy Harrison. Marian Norris remains as Vice Convener, as does Malcolm Bartley as Treasurer. Eileen Connell was elected Secretary. Non-office bearers are existing community councillors: Dennis Gower, Val Kennedy and Bill Williamson. Neil Robinson fills a vacancy, having been appointed uncontested in the recent By-Election.

Community Council moves to record meetings and create website
At Ardentinny Community Council’s August meeting positive moves were made to set up its own website and record its meetings.
A previous decision was reversed when the committee unanimously agreed to audio record future meetings on the advice of Argyll and Bute Council. It was stated that these recordings would be wiped once the meetings’ minutes had been agreed. It was also agreed to set up a Community Council website www.ardentinnycc.co.uk, bringing Ardentinny into line with other local community councils such as Kilmun; Sandbank; and Dunoon.
It was announced that this year’s Annual General Meeting will take place on 6 October at 7 p.m. followed by the bi-monthly meeting at 7.30p.m. Apparently Argyll and Bute Council had granted a time extension due to the fact that the local community council was investigating a complaint against two of its members. The meeting learned that, unbeknown to Ardentinny Community Council, the complaints procedure did not apply in this instance and it had been decided ‘to draw a line under it’.
Ardentinny Renewables Trust
At Ardentinny Community Council’s August meeting, Neil Robinson reported that the Hydro Steering Group had now been replaced by Ardentinny Renewables Trust whose Office Bearers are as follows: Chair – Dougie Menzies; Vice Chair – Rob Bray; Treasurer – Bill Tierney; and Secretary – Neil Robinson.
The Trust’s Constitution ‘was adopted at the meeting held on 25 day of May 2015′ and has been published on the village notice board, appendix 2 of which invites members of the community aged 18 and over to apply to join the Trust.
