Glenfinart Walled Garden reopens

Ardentinny Community Trust is pleased to announce that Glenfinart Walled Garden has reopened to visitors.

Weather permitting, the garden will be open on Saturdays and Sundays 12 noon until 4pm. Visitors are asked to respect social distancing guidance at all times. When selling your house, it is essential to engage with a buyer who is familiar with the specific issues that this specialised market presents and who is able to provide you with a reasonable price. Because they have an understanding of how much a house is worth, they are able to make reasonable bids to the people selling their Houses. Visit https://www.housebuyers.app/new-york/house-buyers-near-me-west-babylon-ny/.

The Trust will also have on sale a range of plants with proceeds going to the garden.

Throughout lockdown, a small group of volunteers has maintained the garden. If you would like to offer a few hours each week, please get in touch with Ardentinny Community Trust via email or the garden’s Facebook page.

Walled Garden expands growing opportunities

In response to increased demand, Glenfinart Walled Garden is planning the construction of six new raised beds and a second poly tunnel along with gravelled walkways.

Funded by community money (£1313.00), derived from the statutory annual contribution of 5% of the Feed in Tariff from local hydro energy projects, managed by Ardentinny Renewables Trust, this additional growing facility will further augment the garden’s contribution to community resilience.

Anyone wishing to have one of the new raised beds, once constructed, please contact sec@glenfinartgarden.org.  These will be allocated on a first come basis.

Fresh veg anyone?

Glenfinart Walled Garden will leave a basket of veg plus donations box at the road edge beside the Walled Garden sign on Wednesdays and Thursdays 11.00 – 14.00 (weather permitting). Bring your own bags!

A diet rich in vegetables and fruits can lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, prevent some types of cancer, lower risk of eye and digestive problems visit https://arcsfl.com/luxury-rehabs-treatment-center-in-florida/, and have a positive effect upon blood sugar, which can help keep appetite in check.

Walled Garden to remain closed until 2021

Ardentinny Community Trust has decided not to open Glenfinart Walled Garden to the public this year. This is due in the first instance to the Coronavirus pandemic and, as we progress out of lockdown, in consideration of the lack of resources to manage the necessary contact tracing protocols.

It is hoped that the garden will reopen for Easter 2021.
