Ardentinny 1910

Little has changed of this view of Rock Cottage, Post Office and Ardentinny Hotel taken some 101 years ago. The postcard published by Mathew Gardner, Ardentinny (who ran the village post office) was posted to an address in Edinburgh on October 10, 1911.

Great to hear from you Alistair and thanks for commenting. Which house did you live in in Ardentinny? Must have been around the 1930s? – David

My name is Alistair Cameron. I now live in Australia. I grew up in Ardentinny and lived just along the road from where your grandfather lived. At age of 13 I worked with your grandfather, Jock McIntyre, employees of the forestry commission. Enjoying this website. Hope to visit Scotland including Ardentinny later this year if I can, I am 92!

Hi there,

I was looking at you wbsite, which is wonderful, and noticed that you have a postcard published by my cousin, Mathew Gardner. I am currently researching our family history and wondered if you had the original postcard and any other information whih has not been published on your website.

I have some information which I would be happy to furnish if you wish to get in touch.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Regards

Janet
