Thanks for this. Yup, another of our local wildlife experts suggested they were toads.. now amended!

Hi, I think you will find that the picture is of toads, not frogs ! You can see their spawn in the big puddle, but it is in long ribbons rather than the usuall large blobs of frog spawn. Poor them, their first batch was killed, first by a forestry vehicle going through the field path and then if anything was lucky enough to escape that, the frost got them. Ah well, that’s nature in all it’s glory.
