A recent Google search that I did for Coul Farm led me to an Apr 2010 article about the shooting of a dog that originated from Coul cottage. I am wondering if anyone can provide me with information that may link Coul cottage to the following:

My ancesters, Peter McKellar and his wife Margaret Campbell were living at Coul, Dunnon & Kilmun,  in the 1841 census. The next entry was for Glenfinart.

The death record for Margaret Campbell / McKellar in 1855 gives her place of death as Coul Farm, Glenfinart. Her parents were given as Duncan Campbell , farmer and Nancy McNaughtan. The informant indicated that Margaret had lived all her life ( 80 years ) at Coul Farm. I don't know if it may have been part of Glenfinart Estate, or whether Duncan Campbell may have owned or leased it.

From the article I realised that Coul cottage was close to Glenfinart and may be the same place as recorded in the above. I have also found that Coul cottage was recently advertised for sale ( Sep 2010 ) and I have been able to download a photo of it. Would this be the original building from 1855 or has it been replaced ?

In the 1851 census Margaret McKellar, widow, was living with her daughter Catherine and husband Duncan Thompson, bootmaker, at  Rose cottage, Ardentinny.  Does Rose cottage still exist ? if it does I would like a photo of it. From the census the next entry was for Rock cottage so it must have been close to it.

Peter and margaret's daughter, Helen married Alexander Grierson, mason, in 1837 and in 1841 and 1851 they were living at Barnacabber. He possibly was working on the renovations at Glenfinart house which I understand took place about then.

If anyone can shed some light on any of the foregoing I would appreciate getting the information
