Our Easter Parade
On Sunday 16th March, Ardentinny Village Hall Committee put on their own Easter Parade of Easter Bonnet Contestants while also providing a vibrant Easter Bazaar for villagers and visitors.There was a wide variety on offer. Delicious hand-made chocolates; home-made wine and muffins; knitted bunnets and colourful cloth bags and baskets. Books, candles, jewellery and a bright array of plants completed the picture.
There was an active Kids Corner and 'guess the bunny's' birthday prize for kids, young and old. Our young helper/models Lauren, Ellie, Hannah and Tara provided a catwalk display of the bonnets before competition judge, Bill Dalby, explained his criteria for the all-important judging. He decided to award first prize to Tara Johnston for the way her bonnet displayed the meaning of Easter while second and third prizes went to Eileen Connell and Babs Marshall, respectively, not only for their design but also for the amount of work that had gone in to making them.
